December 2009 – Indoor 20-20

Where – Montclair Soccer Domain

A hugely entertaining game took place indoor on Boxing Day to launch, what will surely become, a great annual Montclair tradition. A hotch-potch of players from all corners of the globe convened after Christmas Day excesses to throw themselves into what was a very exciting affair with close to 300 runs being scored between the teams. The Reds notched 144 and the Blues came close with 138. Big Adam from the Blues, gave the rather fatigued bowler, Mr Thompson, a twitchy bum with two 6s and a 4 off the first 3 balls of the last over bringing the Blues within touching distance.

Nonetheless, the game was very even and the true winner was the concept of the first indoor game in Montclair on record. Congratulations to all the players and thanks to Yomi from the London Shop for the between-innings “teas” provided on the pavilion balcony and to Chris Egan from Egan and Sons Public House for his fine hospitality post-game.
